How Postcard Exchange Works

Scout Postcard Exchange

Main Page     Log On     Register     How It Works

This Postcard Exchange lets scouts safely collect cards from other scouts across the country.
It's a fun way to fulfill requirements for achievements, merit badges, and awards.

Process:
The process is simple.
When you sign up, you are committing to send postcards to other scout groups in a timely manner.

  • Register - Dens, Patrols, or other groups with a responsible adult register.
  • Select Partners - Choose a group from each state to exchange postcards.
  • Send Postcards - when you send a postcard, mark it as Sent in your list.
  • Receive Postcards - when you get a postcard in the mail, mark it as Received in your list.
  • Exchange Messages - you can send an electronic message to other groups, especially if a card seems to be lost in the mail.

Security:
Messages can be sent through this system so that your email addresses are never shared. Only people that have registered can access the system, and access can be revoked by us.
If you prefer, you can share more information with your postcard partners and communicate outside of this system via phone, postal mail, or email. This allows you to have individual scouts interact with other individuals, but all security and protection is up to you.

Abuse: All messages sent through this system are stored in a database. This allows us to monitor the messages and revoke privileges to anyone abusing the system.
As a user, you have the ability to report anything you observe as abuse.

Pen Pals: If you'd like to write to more scout groups, in your country or around the world, try the Pen Pals program, too.
