The Tune:
Lyrics:
I used to be a Beaver, and a good ol' Beaver too,
But now I've finished Beaver-ing,
I don't know what to do,
I'm growing old and feeble,
And I can Beaver no more,
So I'm going to work my ticket if I can.
Chorus:
Back to Gilwell, happy land;
I'm going to work my ticket if I can.
Verses:
I used to be a Bobwhite
I used to be an Eagle
I used to be a Fox
I used to be an Owl
I used to be a Bear
I used to be a Buffalo
I used to be an Antelope
I used to be a Staffer
But now I've finished Beaver-ing,
I don't know what to do,
I'm growing old and feeble,
And I can Beaver no more,
So I'm going to work my ticket if I can.
Chorus:
Back to Gilwell, happy land;
I'm going to work my ticket if I can.
Verses:

I used to be an Eagle
I used to be a Fox
I used to be an Owl
I used to be a Bear

I used to be a Staffer

I used to be a Bobwhite over 20 years ago....
I still find myself singing this song to myself. 😊

For all you Bobwhites that are getting picked on by the larger
animals.... sing this verse to them...
I used to be a Bobwhite, a good old Bobwhite too.
I like to eat Bear, Fox, Owl, and Beaver stew.
I'm getting mighty hungry,
and I don't know what to do!
So I'm going to catch a staffer if I can.

I was in Woodbadge in Chief Seattle Council while a Scoutmaster in Snohomish County, WA, and we were the 'Gladly Bears.' Quite a story about how that happened. Any Happy Bears out there?
