This Activity is meant for Boy Scouts.
Cut the logs so they are 4 to 6 feet long and weigh from 10 to 40 pounds.
You may let each patrol figure out their own way to solve the challenge. Or, you may tell them to hang the logs from the tree limb using the rope and stakes. (This would be a timber hitch on the log, rope over the limb, and two half-hitches on the stake )
Objective: Lift all the logs off the ground as fast as possible.
Rules:
- Can not touch the logs with hands or feet.
- The logs must be completely off the ground.
- All logs must be off the ground at the same time for 30 seconds.
- All scouts sit at least 30 feet away from the logs during the 30 seconds.
