BSA Centennial Coin - I Got Mine!
Just like waiting to get tickets for the big game, I was sitting here on my computer in line at 11:00am Central time for the to open the doors to the BSA commemorative coin vaults.

Right at 11:00am, the site came to a screeching stand-still. The "Add to Cart" button just started my little hourglass spinning and it just sat there. Then, I could get no pages to show up.
I can only assume that the other million BSA volunteers were all doing the same thing. :-)

But now, 24 minutes later, I got my Proof coins ordered! Those are the most expensive $1 dollars I've ever had. Well, I don't have them yet - I can only wait until they get delivered to see how they look.

With only 350,000 being minted, you should order yours today. I expect they won't last long. And, if they should run out before you get a chance to buy one, drop me a line - maybe we can work something out $$$$$$$$$$ :-)

It looks like you can also purchase the coins through - the process is easier, but the shipping is higher.

I'd like to have one of these coins, but I can't justify the price. I hoped they would produce a less expensive model.

just wanted to let you know, this is a great website. very helpful and well organized. one improvement however, could be to make the olive green links in the text portions, a more noticeable color.

They will get more expensive if you wait until the introductory pricing expires in in April. But remember, $10 of the price goes back to the BSA and prices are set by the US Mint, not the BSA and this are official US currency. Prices are in line with the other commemoratives offered by the Mint. Silver is currently $16-17 per ounce.

Wow, Glad I got mine early. A shame though is that I see hundreds of these now on Ebay. So, I think that there were a large number of these sold to non scouters who were just hoping to make a few extra dollars off of the true believers. Noticed today several on ebay selling for over $100.00 Oh, well, capitalism at it's worst, I guess.
